Sounds Good Productions is the Los Angeles company of engineer and studio designer Brandon Duncan. For more than twenty years his work has lived at the console, recording and mixing records, mixing front of house on tour and delivering audio for live broadcast.
That experience is the foundation of the studio design practice. Brandon designs rooms from the engineer’s chair. He knows how a room behaves under the pressure of a real session, what a mix engineer needs from the monitoring, and how a signal path drawn on paper translates into reality. He is also a hands-on builder, so he stays with a project from the first drawing to the final cable connection.
The rooms speak for themselves. Mix This! FTA, the mix room he designed and built with Bob Clearmountain, is a 2027 finalist for the NAMM TEC Award for Studio Design. As chief engineer at Clearmountain’s Berkeley Street Studios, he keeps the studio and its Neve 8068 performing at the level its artists expect.
Whatever the project, a record, a tour or a room, the standard is the one in the name.
